How to Choose the Perfect Chandelier Size for Your Room
Guides

When it comes to selecting a chandelier, size matters just as much as style. To determine the right width for your chandelier, measure the length and width of your room in feet. Add those two numbers together, and that sum in inches is the approximate diameter your chandelier should be. For dining tables, the fixture should ideally be one-half to three-quarters the width of the table. Beyond basic dimensions, consider the visual weight of the fixture—a visually dense chandelier might need to be slightly smaller than a delicate, airy one of the same measurements.
